10 spots to get wine to celebrate National Wine Day

Okay, so it's not a Trinbagonian day of observance, but do you really need an excuse to pick up our favourite bottle of wine and toast to....it being Thursday?

Whether you prefer Pinot noir, chardonnay, port or Merlot, there's no shortage of retail outlets across the country to pick up a bottle (or several) to satisfy that insatiable love for wine.

Here's at least 10:

Time to Wine

With locations in Arima, San Fernando and Tobago, this trendy spot makes any time a good time to wine.

All Italian Fine Wines and Food

Rust Street, Port of Spain, All Italian Fine Wines and Food serves a wide selection of wine imported directly from Italy. In addition to Prosecco, red and white wines, they also sell gourmet organic pasta, sauces, jams and olive oil.

Uncorked Wines and Spirits

Although less than a year old, Uncorked has already solidified itself as a haven for all wine lovers. Not only can you pick up a bottle of wine to go, but you can also have it in store. Thinking of hosting an intimate lime with a couple friends? Reserve a spot and kick back with a bottle and a specially prepared cheese plate made just for you.

Naughty Grape

Want wine? Of course you do. Want wine delivered straight to your door? Naughty Grape has got you covered. You can order your favourite bottle online and their interactive site even offers which meal to pair with your wine.

Unwined

Located in Arouca, here's what some of the "Unwinders" have to say:

"It's a cosy spot with a beautiful ambience where you definitely feel to "Unwine". The owner greets you with a warm smile & is ready to serve."

"Great ambience. Lovely and hospitable staff. An array of amazing wines for all different taste buds. Their small eats are affordable and yummy. My personal favourites are the salmon sandwiches and the red velvet cupcake with a glass of Trivento sweet Malbec wine."

Bottlestop

Even if you can't make it to Bottlestop in time for National Wine Day, be sure to visit them on June 1 for their wine tasting event with Jeremy Matouk.

Vintage Imports

One of the oldest establishments that retail wine and spirits, Vintage Imports will leave you feeling like you're, "out of Trinidad sightseeing," according to one of their customers. "This place is absolutely breathtaking."

Happy Gourmet

The specialty food market located in Valpark Shopping Plaza provides a wide selection of premium gourmet and healthy foods. Since wine is made from grapes and grapes are fruit, it's only fitting that they'd have a variety of wine to complete their list of health items.

Taste Vinoteca

According to their Facebook, although its National Wine Day, you don't need an excuse to enjoy wine. Open from 6.30pm in One Woodbrook Place, Taste is considered one of the top spots for wine lovers to enjoy. We recommend the rose sangria.
