11 held in La Horquetta during 'Operation Strikeback' exercises

Officers held 11 people during a series of police exercises in the La Horquetta area.
In a statement issued Monday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said that the 11 were arrested on enquiries regarding shooting and other serious offences in the La Horquetta district, during an ‘Operation Strike Back’ exercise which took place in the Northern Division.
The operation, which was coordinated by ACP McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Curtis Paul, was conducted from Sunday 12th May to Monday 13th May, 2019.
Of the 11 persons arrested, six were held in connection with shooting incidents, one for possession of a firearm, one for possession of marijuana, one for housebreaking, and the remaining two held for traffic offences and outstanding warrants, respectively.
Police said enquiries are ongoing.
