12 guns seized in South Trinidad

Over a seven day period, 12 firearms have been recovered in the Southern Division, pushing the number of weapons seized in this district up to 91.

The division is headed by Snr Sup Zamsheed Mohammed, who thanked all the men and women in his district for their hard work over the period. 

He noted that it was only through their dedication and the collaboration of citizens, that they were able to seize so many weapons – including a semi automatic Uzi submachine gun, and a pump action shotgun.

During this week, a total of 2,069 persons were stopped and searched by lawmen and a total of 1,074 patrols were conducted.

The officers have been working assiduously to bring crime back under control in their district to make it safer for law-abiding citizens.
