13 foreign nationals held by police
Police have detained 13 foreign nationals suspected of being in the country illegally.
According to a statement issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the 13 foreign nationals were arrested by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise on August 18, 2018.
Police said during the exercise, which took place from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, seven Venezuelans, three Cubans, one Syrian, one Nigerian and one Chinese national, were detained and handed over to officers of the Immigration Division.
Police are continuing investigations.
