13-yr-old in serious condition after being hit by car

A 13-year-old child is said to be nursing injuries following a motor vehicular accident on Thursday morning in Valencia.

While information is still coming in LoopTT was told that the teenager was attempting to cross the “Valencia Stretch” of the Eastern Main Road at about 9.30 am, when he came into contact with a blue Nissan motor vehicle.

The child hit the front of the car and the front windscreen and was thrown several feet.

The vehicle came to a stop and the driver immediately rendered assistance.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the injured boy was rushed to the Sangre Grande District Hospital.

His condition, LoopTT was told, is said to be serious.

He is expected to be transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

In May 2018, a six-year-old Tobago boy was killed after the vehicle in which he and his family were travelling collided with another vehicle along the Eastern Main Road in Valencia.

More on this as it becomes available.
