14-yr-old in court for housebreaking, larceny

A 14-year-old boy, charged with housebreaking and larceny, was scheduled to appear before the Fyzabad Juvenile Court on Friday to answer to the charge.

The teen, who resides in the Gasparillo district, was arrested during an anti-crime exercise on Wednesday by officers attached to the Gasparillo Police Station.

The teen is alleged to have broken into the home of a male victim, who also resides in the Gasparillo district, on August 20, 2018.

He is also alleged to have stolen one diamond ring valued at US$3000, gold ring valued at TT$2500, one diamond studded chain and earring set valued at TT$3000, one 4-inch Milwaukee grinder valued at TT$1600, one Dewalt electric drill valued at TT$2580, three door locks valued at TT$1200, an assortment of clothing valued at TT$1500 and approximately TT$500 in coins.

The teen was charged by PC Avin Boodram, of the Gasparillo Police Station, on Thursday 6th September, 2018.
