$150K bail for hiding ammo in dashboard

A St James man, who was arrested when four rounds of ammunition were found hidden in the dashboard of his vehicle, has been granted bail at $150,000. 

Hilton Winchester of Dundonald Hill, St. James, appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate where the charges for possession of four rounds of ammunition were read against him. 

Bail was granted, on the condition that Winchester report to the St James police station once a week. 

The matter was then adjourned to May 25. 

Winchester was held on Saturday night by officers of the Western Division Task Force. 

The officers received intelligence which led them to intercept a Nissan Almera along Aboud Circular, St. James. 

The car was searched and hidden behind the vehicle’s instrument panel, the officers found and seized the ammunition. 

The driver was subsequently arrested. 

The exercise was supervised by Acting Corporal Hunte & Khan & included PC's Clement, Frith, Charles, Hollingsworth, Dennis, Wpc Noriega amongst other officers.
