18-month-old knocked down at Arima home dies

An 18-month old boy has died after he was knocked down by a car at his Arima home.

An autopsy performed yesterday at the forensic science center in St James confirmed that Samuel died as a result of injuries sustained from the accident.

The toddler, police said, was injured on Friday morning when he ran into the path of a car as it was reversing out of the garage of the family‚Äôs home along the Eastern Main Road, Arima.

At the time, the car was being driven by a 17-year-old relative who was on the way to work.

Samuel was rushed to the Arima District Hospital, however, just over an hour later, around 9.38 am that day, he succumbed to his injuries.
