21-year-old mother charged for child's death at Chagville Beach

The 21-year-old woman whose daughter was found submerged in Chagville beach during the August holidays has been charged with manslaughter.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service revealed on Saturday that Rizpah Sterling aka Miracle will appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on Monday, October 15. She was charged on Friday following advice from Director of Public Prosecution Roger Gaspard.

Sterling's daughter two-year-old Isiahilla Sterling was found submerged in the waters of Chagville Beach, Chaguaramas, on August 12.

Investigations were conducted by ASP (Actg) Suzette Martin, Insp Arnold Lutchman and Sgt Roger Reyes while the accused was charged Cpl Thomas, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 1.
