22 held for guns, ammunition in operation Golden Tombstone

Twenty-two people were arrested while two firearms, quantities of ammunition and one bulletproof vest were seized earlier on Thursday, during a joint anti-crime exercise in the Las Cuevas, La Fillette and Maracas Bay districts.

Operation ‘Golden Tombstone’ was supervised by acting ACP Forde and acting Snr Supt Phillip between 1:00 am and 9:00 am and included officers of the Trinidad and Tobago
Defence Force, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and the Customs and Excise Division.

The 22 people were held for various offences, including possession of firearms and ammunition.

The officers also seized one Mac 10 pistol loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition, one shotgun along with nine 12 gauge cartridges and one bulletproof vest.
