$25K bail for Petit Valley woman caught with drugs in car
A Petit Valley woman who was found with drugs in her car has been granted $25,000 bail.
The accused, Gabriella Jardine, of Petit Valley, appeared before Magistrate Aden Stroude in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
She was charged with possession of 1.1kgs of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking.
Jardine, who was represented by attorney Ian Brooks, plead not guilty to the offence.
The matter was then adjourned to February 26.
PC McClean is the complainant (charging officer) in the matter.
Jardine was arrested at 11.15 am on Tuesday by officers of the Western Division Task Force.
The officers were responding to a report of a crash at Panka Street, St James.
Upon arriving, they had cause to search the vehicle and seize two brown packages.
The packages, police said, contained 1.1kg of marijuana.
PC McClean subsequently charged the woman for possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking.
She is expected to appear before the courts today.
Also involved in this exercise were Sgt Hudlin, PC Davis, PC Sahadath, WPC Matthews, as well as officers from the Police Traffic Branch.
