28 people contract COVID-19; No more discharged from hospitals

Twenty-eight persons have newly tested positive for COVID-19 according to the Ministry of Health's (MoH) daily clinical update.

For the first time in weeks, no one has been discharged from public health facilities though there have been 28 additional recovered community cases. Recovered community cases refer to persons who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation before being released.

As of this Friday, 35,749 people have been tested for the novel coronavirus locally.

The MoH notes that 6,261 individuals have contracted the illness while 5,559 have recovered. 

There are currently 589 active cases. 

Unfortunately, 113 victims have succumbed to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 44 patients remain hospitalised, five are in the Intensive Care Unit and one is in the High Dependency Unit.

Twenty-eight people are in step-down facilities, 166 in state quarantine and 489 in self-isolation.
