$300K bail for two men charged with sexual offences against minors
Two Port-of-Spain men charged separately for varying sexual offences against minors have been committed to stand trial in the High Court.
Both men were granted a total of $300,000 bail after appearing before Adia Mohammed in the Port-of-Spain 7th Magistrates’ Court on April 10 and 5.
Anthony Michael Mitchell, 36 was granted $100,000 bail with surety and was committed to stand trial in the High Court when he appeared on April 10. He was also barred from going within 500 feet of the victim or from having any form of communication with her.
Mitchell was charged with two counts of having sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 14-years-old and one count of sexual penetration of a female child on March 26, 2018.
In a separate matter, Hubert Mannette, 56, was granted $200,000 bail with surety after being charged with two counts of sexual touching of a 13-year-old girl and one count of sexual penetration of a 12-year-old girl.
He appeared before Magistrate Mohammed on April 5 in the 7th Magistrates court.
Mannette’s charges were laid on November 15, 2017.
