31-yr-old man held after retired teacher robbed
A 31-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly robbed a retired school teacher at gunpoint on Thursday morning.
The victim is said to be a 61-year-old woman from Cotton Hill, St Clair.
She was said to be exiting her vehicle at about 1:30 am Thursday and was about to enter her home, when she was accosted at gunpoint by an armed man.
The man threatened the 61-year-old with violence, before relieving her of her valuables.
The police were notified and a team of officers from the Port of Spain Division conducted inquiries.
The officers received information which led them to Diego Martin where a 31-year-old man was arrested.
He was found to be in possession of the stolen items.
He is expected to be questioned following which he will be charged and brought before a Port of Spain Magistrate.
