This latest reminder comes after 17 persons ticketed for speeding along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

The exercise took place between 6 pm and 11 pm on Friday throughout the Northern Division, under the supervision of Snr Sup David, ASP Gyan, and Insp Pitt, among others.

It saw over 40 persons being issued fixed penalty tickets for a variety of offences, including 17  persons for speeding, five for driving under the influence, and 16 for a variety of offences – inclusive of driving a defective vehicle, failing to wear seatbelts, and operating a vehicle while using a cellular phone.

One man, a 22-year-old from St Augustine, was arrested after he was found to be driving a vehicle in the Arouca district without a driver’s permit, and without a certificate of insurance.

Sgt Ramkissoon is continuing inquiries into that matter.
