40 more people test positive for COVID-19, 40 others recover

Trinidad and Tobago has recorded 40 new cases of the novel coronavirus.

Active cases have, however, dropped to 1,599 as there have been 40 recovered community cases. This has brought the total number of recovered patients to 3,502.

Furthermore, 10 individudals have been discharged from public health facilities.

To date, 5,194 people have contracted COVID-19 locally.

Of that figure, 95 are hospitalised, 39 are in step-down facilities, 231 others are in state quarantine and 1,465 are in self-isolation.

Meanwhile, 93 victims have succumbed to the virus.
