4.3 earthquake recorded in Venezuela, near Trinidad

While Trinbagonians slept, another earthquake was recorded just 106 kilometres from Port of Spain in nearby Venezuela.

A post from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Centre said the 4.3 earthquake occurred just after midnight in Venezuela, 84 kilometres east of the city of CarĂºpano, Venezuela and 106 kilometres north-west of Port of Spain.

The Centre said the event has not yet been reviewed by an analyst and was automatically located by a seismological computational system, therefore, it is a preliminary result and this may vary when new additional data are processed.
