4.9 earthquake startles T&T

Citizens in Trinidad and Tobago were slightly shaken after a 4.9 earthquake registered near Scarborough, Tobago on Monday.

A preliminary report from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre said the earthquake occurred around 3:00 pm just 21 kilometres northwest of Scarborough, 79 kilometres northeast of Arima and 93 kilometres northeast of Port of Spain.

Citizens in reported feeling the 'quake in both Trinidad and Tobago including Port of Spain, Diego Martin, Arima, Valencia, Sangre Grande and Piarco, as well as in Scarborough, Signal Hill and Crown Point, Tobago.
