50-year-old tied up and robbed in Marabella

Police are investigating a report of a robbery in Marabella in which a 50-year-old man was assaulted and tied up.

According to police reports, on Sunday morning the victim had just arrived at his home along Market Street, Marabella, when he was approached by two men.

The men were both armed with firearms and had bandannas over their faces.

They announced a hold-up and forced the victim inside his home where they proceeded to tie him up and relieve him of his cash and valuables.

Among the items stolen, police said, was a quantity of cash including $24,000 and US$2,400.

The men also stole a quantity of jewellery, alcohol, and other items, before escaping.

The 50-year-old man was eventually able to untie himself and raise an alarm
