A 5.3 earthquake was recorded just 125 kilometres away from Puerto Rico on Friday night. 

According to a preliminary update from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre, the earthquake epicentre was approximately 125 km northeast of Fajardo and 142 km northeast of Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
