8 more test positive for COVID-19

The Ministry of Health said eight more people have tested positive for COVID-19, however, there have been no additional deaths.

In today’s 4pm update, the Ministry said these new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said 24 people have been discharged from public health facilities, with 43 more recovered community cases.

The Ministry said currently there are 62 patients at hospital; 47 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility with four in ICU and six in HDU.

There are 11 patients at Caura Hospital, one at the Arima General Hospital and three at the Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

At step-down facilities, the Ministry said there are 23 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility and 15 at the UWI Debe campus.

To date, the Ministry said there are 1,321 active cases with 4,065 total recovered patients.

There have been 105 deaths to date, with 5,511 total positive cases recorded to date.

The Ministry said the number of patients in state quarantine facilities is currently at 260, while 1,221 patients are currently in home self-isolation.
