$81K in marijuana found hidden along Cedros coastline

A police exercise in Cedros on Thursday led to the discovery of a quantity of marijuana by officers of the Central Division Task Force and Central Division Major Crime Unit.

According to police reports, the officers, under the supervision of Snr. Supt. Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, conducted the exercise between 11 am and 5 pm.

The lawmen went to Bamboo Village, Cedros where they conducted a search of a bushy area near the coastline.

The search resulted in the discovery of 15 brown packets containing a total of 8.14 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered hidden under sheets of galvanize.

The drug has an estimated street value of $81,400.
