Acting top cop orders probe into police shootout

Acting Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams, has ordered an investigation into a shooting incident involving two police officers at the Grand Bazaar Shopping Mall, Valsayn, on Tuesday night. 

The shooting, which saw 28 spent shells recovered from the shopping mall's car park, took place around 9:35 pm.

Both officers were wounded in the incident and had to be treated at hospital.

One of the officers was discharged at 7:00 am Thursday while the other remains warded.

Supt. Sheldon Daniel, of the Northern Division, has been assigned to investigate the incident with oversight by the Professional Standards Bureau.
