Adult education classes to begin in October

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) has announced that the 2020 Adult Education Training Programme will commence in October 2020 throughout various communities across Trinidad. This only relates to people that were previously registered for the 2020 Programme.

The Adult Education Programme (AEP) provides academic and skills training in a variety of curriculum courses as well as marketable skills targeting the unemployed and under-employed and persons desirous of obtaining Mathematics and English at CXC level.

The Programme provides participants with equal opportunities to prepare themselves to compete for jobs or to develop the skills to create sustainable self-employment and entrepreneurship. Skills and competencies developed can then aid in the creation of home-based production of goods and services, diversification of income streams and employment generation.

The Ministry anticipates that while some of the classes will be held online, there are certain classes which will require a venue.  In this regard, these classes will be limited to numbers recommended by the Ministry of Health. People should also note that standard guidelines and procedures consistent with the COVID-19 prevention protocols will be adhered to at all training venues.

For further information, contact the Adult Education Unit at 623- 2608; EXT 1241, 1242.
