Adverse weather affecting Trinidad due to ITCZ

The Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued an Adverse Weather Watch as poor weather conditions associated with an active Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are likely.

The yellow level alert was issued on Wednesday afternoon.

The Met Office said intermittent showers and thunderstorms are likely over the period.

Gusty winds, as well as street/flash flooding, can be expected near heavy showers and thunderstorms while landslides/landslips are possible in areas so prone.

Members of the public are urged to monitor weather conditions before venturing outside and to pay attention to official updates.

Persons seeking more information can visit the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management’s (ODPM) website at www.odpm.gov.tt.
