Adverse weather alert cancelled, but showers to linger

The T&T Meteorological Service (Met Office) has ended an adverse weather alert issued on Tuesday as it said most of the activity associated with a tropical wave has passed the country.

And while Kirk has regenerated in a Tropical Storm, the Met Office said the worst of the resulting bad weather is over.

Citizens can still expect a few showers to linger overnight while local effects are likely to produce some showers on Thursday.

The Met Office further advised that thunderstorm activity may also occur in a few areas Thursday and street/flash flooding and gusty winds are still possible in the event of heavy downpours.

Citizens are advised to monitor weather conditions before venturing outside and monitor official updates from the Met Office and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM).
