Devon Chuniesingh spent four months recovering after he was shot in March but last Wednesday, he developed complications from his injuries while at home, which led to his death.

An autopsy was performed yesterday at the Forensic Science Center in St James; it confirmed that his death was related to the injuries he suffered.

Chuniesingh, a father of one, was shot several times during a drive-by shooting on March 19, outside his home along Get Well Avenue, Pinto Road, Arima. He was rushed for treatment, however, the shooting left him in a state of paralysis.

He was later allowed to go home but on August 5, he developed complications and stopped breathing.

Chuniesingh is a relative of Polly Ann, 31, Damian, 39, and Canadian national Deoraj Randy Chuniesingh - who were found dead at their home in January. They had all been strangled.

Nathaniel Ellis, 31, was later held and charged by police for this triple murder and this matter is currently before the Arima Magistrates’ Court.
