Former Attorney General Anand Ramlogan has been arrested.
Ramlogan was detained at the Piarco International Airport by officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau early on Wednesday as he was about to board a flight to Miami.
Meanwhile, a warrant was issued for the arrest of UNC Senator and attorney-at-law Gerald Ramdeen. He subsequently surrendered himself to police.
The UNC Senator is being represented by attorney Wayne Sturge.
Both Ramlogan and Ramdeen were reportedly arrested for ongoing matters being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Reports indicate that the former Attorney General will be questioned by police in relation to legal fees during the period that he served as Attorney General in the UNC-led People's Partnership Government.
Government has reportedly retained the services of English Queen’s Counsel Edward Jenkins to prosecute the case against Ramlogan and Ramdeen.
