Another teen drowns at Rio Seco waterfall

A teenager is suspected to have drowned at the Rio Seco waterfall in Matura on Saturday.

He has been identified as 19-year-old Steffon Logan of Siparia.

According to reports, around 4 pm Logan was at the waterfall with a group of friends when he got into difficulties and disappeared under water.

His body did not immediately resurface.

On Sunday, around 10 am the teen's body was retrieved at the waterfall with the assistance of members of the Coast Guard.

It was taken out of the trail by officers of the Sangre Grande Task Force.

A district medical officer viewed the body, make a pronouncement and ordered its removal.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Monday.

Another teenager, 19-year-old Triston Matthison of Sangre Grande, drowned at the Rio Seco waterfall on June 19.
