The Argyle International Airport (AIA) in St. Vincent as shut down operations effective 3 p.m. in light of the pending passage of Tropical Storm Don.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.

In a statement issued the afternoon, the airport CEO, Hadley Bourne, indicated, "All scheduled flights during this time will be interrupted until further notice is given by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO)."

Earlier today, regional air carrier, LIAT, announced the cancellation of some 20 flights in anticipation of Tropical Storm Don.

In a 2 p.m. bulletin, the National Hurricane Center in Miami noted that the centre of TS Don is forecast to move across the Windward Islands today or tonight and then move westward across the southeastern Caribbean Sea on Wednesday.
