Arima baker dies in tragic accident after oven explodes

The family of 83-year-old baker, Eugene Williams, has been thrown into mourning after he was killed by an explosion in his own kitchen.

According to reports, Williams, of Tumpuna Road, Guanapo, Arima, was attempting to light an oven at his business place, Hop and Drop Bakery, where he also resides, last Friday.

However, the oven exploded, causing the oven door to hit him in the chest, where he collapsed.

Williams was rushed to hospital by his son, Richard Williams, however, the elderly man succumbed to his injuries later that day. 

Authorities said an autopsy would be conducted on Tuesday morning.
