Arima man in court for raping teen

Keston Kelly, 33, is charged with rape and grievous sexual assault of an 18-year-old girl.

An Arima man held in connection with the rape of an 18-year-old girl, is due to appear before an Arima Magistrate on Thursday, after being charged with rape and grievous sexual assault by officers of the Arima Police Station.

Keston Kelly, 33, of Train Line, Guanapo, Arima, was arrested by officers of the Arima Police Station, following a report made by the woman alleging that the man had raped her at his home.

The victim was in the company of the accused, who offered to give her a ride to her home around 12:30 pm last Sunday.

The man took the victim to Train Line Road, where he is alleged to have sexually assaulted her.

The victim subsequently made a report to the Arima Police Station.

The accused was later arrested at Tumpuna Road South, Arima, on the same day.

Charges were laid by WPC Mahalia O’Brien, of the Arima Police Station, on Wednesday.
