Arima Mayor extends Corpus Christi greetings
Arima Mayor Lisa Morris Julian and the Arima Borough Council is extending warm greetings to the nation for Corpus Christi.
In a statement, Mayor Julian said today’s celebration of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ serves as a reminder that all humans have been recipients of undeserved acts of kindness by supreme beings.
She said that as the crackdown on illegal behavior continues, the council welcomes opportunities to work with organizations such as the Santa Rosa/Malabar Cluster of the Roman Catholic faith who seek to instill core values into their community.
The Arima Mayor further noted that the Cluster’s emphasis on ‘love of neighbor’ is a prevailing theme for this year’s Corpus Christi mass and procession. She encouraged the borough to reflect on this and other messages of Corpus Christi and continue to uphold ways of righteousness.
Mayor Julian said the council strives to show appreciation by practicing and encouraging daily acts of kindness within the borough.
She added that Corpus Christi provides an opportunity for reflection on those acts and to show appreciation for them.
