Arima Mayor's office broken into

Arima police are investigating a larceny report of a larceny at the office of the Mayor of Arima.

The office, which is located at Lawrence Park Avenue, was secured a by a 42-year-old employee around 3 pm on Wednesday.

The woman returned around 8 am on Thursday and realised that the office had been ransacked and the door on the south-western side of the building was ajar.

Several items were found missing including 10 cases of Lanher disinfectant, 47 pairs of slippers, nine bales of toilet paper, six cases of soap powder, five stoves, one bag of toys, one100-lb bag of rice, six cases of 500ml bottle of water, eight hygiene packs, one case of Colgate toothpaste, and one case of medium toothbrushes.

The value of the items have yet to be ascertained.
