Arima restaurants shut down for violating COVID-19 regulations

Arima police were forced to shut down several food places on Saturday night, as they were operating outside of the hours specified under the Public Health Ordinance.

Among the food places identified was a well known fried chicken establishment along Broadway Street, Arima.

However, no arrests were made, and the workers at all the establishments were warned.

Loop News was told that should the officers have to return on another occasion, they would charge these business owners.

Persons found in breach of the orders can face fines up to $50,000 and even a custodial sentence.

The operations were overseen by Snr Sup David and Sup Edwards and led by Sgt Ali.

It included PCs Reid, George, Bernard, Brown, Joseph and Pompey, among others.
