Arouca man stabbed in the face, suspect held by police

A 34-year-old man Arouca was hospitalised after he was stabbed to the face over the weekend.

The victim, who is from St Clair Road, Arouca, was stabbed multiple times, suffering injuries to his right eye and nose.

The suspect, a 56-year-old man from First Street, Arouca, is currently in custody.

Police were told that the victim was liming at the Jelly Bean Bar in Five Rivers,  Arouca, when he got into an argument with the suspect.

The argument soon became physical, and the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 34-year-old to the face.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The police were notified and officers from the Northern Division including Cpl Manswell, PC Norville, WPC Nepute, and PC Morris, visited the scene.

The victim was taken for medical treatment, and the swift work of the officers led to the arrest of the suspect.
