Autopsy confirms: Carenage teen shot in head

An autopsy conducted on 14-year-old East Mucurapo Secondary student, Naomi Nelson, has confirmed that she was shot once to the back of the head.

Naomi, of Big Yard Carenage, was walking along the roadway at the time of an alleged shootout between police and an unknown suspect.

Her funeral is tentatively set for Friday.

Two other people were killed in the melee, one of whom is the godson of Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, while six were injured. The deceased are 27-year-old Kareem “Baldwin” Roberts and 30-year-old Keron “Frosty” Eve.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched by police to determine whether police were responsible for the killings.

Ballistic testing is expected to be conducted soon.

The Prime Minister has since visited Carenage residents who have held protests since the incident.

They say if justice is not delivered, action will be taken on their behalf.
