Autopsy to determine death of 5-year-old

An autopsy has been ordered to confirm what caused the death of a five-year-old boy.

The toddler was unresponsive when he was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital on Friday.

Doctors were told that the child was ill on Friday morning and had been seen vomiting.

However, when he fell unconscious, he was rushed for medical treatment.

The child was pronounced dead at 11.11 am on Friday by Dr Jadoo.

The police were notified and a party of officers from the Belmont CID and the Homicide Bureau, including Inspector Persad and Sgt Jones, visited the scene.

Inquiries are ongoing.
