Autopsy ordered on Freeport pensioner found in barrel
Created : 9 October 2017
An autopsy is expected to take place today at the Forensic Science Center in St James to determine the cause of death of 87-year-old pensioner, Irvin Ming.
Ming’s body was discovered on Friday morning in a barrel at the ground floor of his Calcutta #2, Freeport home.
A viewing by a district medical officer revealed what appeared to be marks of violence to the elderly man’s neck, leading officials to believe that he may have been strangled before his body was unceremoniously placed into a barrel.
As a result, an autopsy is expected to be performed today to reveal the cause of death.
A male relative is said to have been detained and is aiding police with their inquiries.
More on this as it becomes available.
