Autopsy ordered for teen who died at Valencia River

The death of a 17-year-old boy, while he was swimming in a river in Valencia on Monday, is currently engaging the attention of the police.

The deceased has been identified as David Ramlogan of Sangre Grande.

According to police reports, around 4:30 pm on the Republic Day holiday, Ramlogan was in the water at the Valencia River with a group of friends when he got into difficulty.

Ramlogan reportedly went under the water but his friends were able to swiftly pull him out of the river.

The 17-year-old was rushed for medical treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

An autopsy is carded to take place on Tuesday to determine what caused the death of the teenager.
