Autopsy reports show that four-year-old Jenice Figaro was beaten to death,

The child was initially said to have died after eating a meal of fries.

Forensic pathologist Dr Eslyn Burris Mc Donald performed the autopsy on Tuesday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James which showed that the child died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Figaro died last Thursday night after she fell unwell.

She was at home with her stepmother at Corosal Road, Whiteland, at the time.

Reports are that the child began “beating up”, having what appeared to be a seizure, and as a result she was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Her father Robert Figaro is reported to have said that that the child had several injuries in the past, including a burst lip, a fractured wrist and a burn on her tummy.
