Baby, toddler found alive among decomposing bodies of parents, uncle

An eight-month old baby and her four-year-old sister were discovered alongside the decomposing bodies of their parents and uncle in Penal on Thursday afternoon.

The victims have been identified as 57-year old Wazir Mohammed, his wife 43-year-old Shelly-Ann Ragoonanan and his brother 52-year-old Nazim Mohammed.

According to reports, the couple’s older son, 21-year-old Vishard Mohammed went to his parent’s Clarke Road home around 3:30 pm, after he was unable to contact them since Sunday.

Mohammed climbed over a gate and entered the house through a broken door.

Police say all three victims appeared to be shot.

They believe the three were killed on Sunday and the children were in the house since then.

The children were taken to the Siparia Health Facility for medical examination.
