The two suspects charged with kidnapping for ransom after nabbing a Venezuelan child have been denied bail.

Nineteen-year-old Anjali De Gannes and 58-year-old Judah Taitt appeared virtually before Chaguanas Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan on Wednesday.

Police prosecutor PC Jaggernauth objected to bail and the accused were both remanded in custody October 21.

Meanwhile, warrants were issued for 24-year-old Jdan Taitt, the third suspect charged in the matter. The warrants will be executed at the Golden Grove State Prison.

De Gannes was unrepresented in the matter while Judah Taitt was represented by Nera Narine.

On September 16, 9-month-old Sofia Rivas was allegedly kidnapped by a woman. She was reportedly found by police in a Curepe apartment hours later.
