Bail for man who hit girl repeatedly in the face
A Valencia man has been granted $120,000 bail for assault and assault by beating against an 11-year-old girl.
Christopher Phillip, 43, a truck driver, of St. Albans, Valencia, appeared before Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne, in the Sangre Grande 1st Magistrates’ Court on Monday to answer the charges.
The matter has been adjourned to May 28, 2018.
The man has been ordered to maintain a distance of 1000 feet from the victim.
The charges arise out of an incident which took place on Sunday.
Phillip got into a physical altercation with the victim’s mother and the child attempted to intervene.
The accused then allegedly punched the child repeatedly in her face.
The matter was reported to the Valencia Police Post. PC Warren Seow, of the Valencia Crime Patrol Unit, laid the charges.
