Bandits beat man, steal $1500 bottle of Scotch

Police are investigating a report of a home invasion in St Mary’s Village, in which a 56-year-old man was beaten about the body.

The incident took place around 6:00 am on Wednesday, at a home in Toppin Trace, St Mary’s Village.

Police officers were told the 56-year-old man was at home in the company of a 38-year-old woman when three armed men forced their way into the home.

One man was armed with a firearm, the other was armed with a cutlass, and the third was armed with a knife.

The assailants announced a hold-up and ordered the two victims to lie on the ground.

The 56-year-old man was then ordered to tell the assailants where the valuables of the home were.

During this process, he was kicked and hit about the body as he lay on the floor.

The assailants then relieved the victim of a Black and White Scotch whisky valued at TT$1,500, a quantity of jewellery(value to be ascertained), and a cellular phone.

The assailants then escaped in the 56-year-old man’s blue Toyota Corolla which was parked outside.
