Bandits break in to Hindu temple

Cunupia police are investigating a report of sacrilege at a Hindu temple in Enterprise.

Workers at the Vishwa Shanti Ashram temple along Ragoonanan Road found the building ransacked on Sunday when they returned to it after a week.

They had previously secured the building and left it last Sunday.

Personnel discovered the temple had been broken into and ransacked around 8 am. Thieves reportedly gained access to the building by cutting a hole in the roof.

Several items of value, including food, soft drinks, water bottles, and bags of rice, were missing.

The police were notified and a team of officers from the Central Division responded.

WPC Elock is continuing inquiries.
