Five men were arrested just minutes after allegedly robbing a Sangre Grande bar and shooting some of its patrons early Wednesday.
Officers of the Eastern Division also recovered the items stolen.
A revolver and a quantity of ammunition were recovered when they responded to a report of a robbery and shooting at Orinoco Bar, Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande around 1 am on Wednesday.
The officers immediately began searching for the vehicle the bandits used to escape.
Seventeen minutes later, a white AD wagon with five male occupants was intercepted and searched.
The search resulted in one revolver, along with three rounds of .38mm ammunition, being found on the floor of the vehicle.
The items; two cellular phones and a quantity of cash, which were stolen during the robbery were also found in the vehicle.
The five male suspects; a 30-year-old, a 17-year-old, a 25-year-old and a 42-year-old, all of Sangre Grande, a 46-year-old of Ste. Madeleine were arrested and are expected to be charged with robbery with aggravation, shooting with intent and possession of firearm and ammunition.
