Bandits make off with cash, jewellery in Arouca home invasion

A home invasion in Arouca is currently engaging the attention of Northern Division police.

The victim told investigators that around 10.20 pm he was sitting in the yard of his home at Blue Bird Drive, Arouca, when he saw a stranger approaching.

The suspect was armed with a cutlass.

The victim told police he challenged the suspect, and a struggle ensued.

The suspect, however, on realising he was not in control of the situation, shouted for help.

Two other persons, one armed with a firearm, then entered the yard.

The weapon was pointed at the victim and he was ordered into his house.

The suspects then announced a hold up and placed the victim, as well as other relatives in the house at the time, into a room.

They then stole several items of value, including cash, jewellery, and cellular phones, before they escaped.
