Bandits strike again: Cashier, customers robbed at KFC, St Helena

Just one day after bandits carried out a robbery at Royal Castle in St. Helena, three bandits entered the KFC outlet at St. Helena Junction, Piarco on Thursday night, making off with a quantity of cash from the vault and cash register and also items from several customers.

According to reports, three men entered the establishment around 9:05p.m.

Two of the suspects, both armed with firearms, jumped over the counter while the other pointed a firearm at the cashier and announced a robbery.

The cashier walked over to an office and locked the door behind her.

However, the bandits pushed open the door and demanded that she hand over the contents of the vault. They took a quantity of cash from the vault and the cash register.

Both suspects then jumped over the counter and robbed a customer of a cell phone and his wallet containing a quantity of cash. Another customer was relieved of his cell phone.

They also stole a tablet device belonging to a security guard, before escaping on foot.
