Barataria contractor held with pistol, ammo, marijuana
A 55-year-old Barataria contractor was due to appear before a Port of Spain magistrate on Monday charged with possession of a firearm and marijuana.
In a statement issued Monday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said 55-year-old Bertrand Rawle Wilson, of Sparrow Avenue, was arrested by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Strike Team, during an anti-crime exercise carried out in the Barataria district between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday, June 29.
During the exercise, officers carried out a search warrant at Wilson's home where they discovered a black Citadel pistol, three rounds of .45 calibre ammunition and 13 grammes of marijuana.
Wilson was charged by PC Darwin Boodoo on Friday, June 29.
The exercise was supervised by Superintendent (Ag.) Nazir Mohammed and ASP (Ag.) Brandon John, both of IATF Strike Team.
